FirstService Residential Spreads Holiday Cheer to Children in the Miami-Dade County Foster Care System
Hollywood, Fla. - (December 30, 2019) – FirstService Residential, North America’s property management leader with local market expertise, recently hosted a holiday toy drive benefitting the Voices for Children Foundation, Inc.
FirstService Residential associates, residents and vendors came together this holiday season to collect more than 1,700 toys for hundreds of local children in the Miami-Dade County’s foster care system. This toy drive has become an annual Christmas tradition continues to grow. Over the past ten years, FirstService Residential has donated more than 16,000 toys to the organization.
“Each year, we look forward to supporting this wonderful cause,” said Hector Vargas, President, South Florida High-Rise Division. “We are proud to see so many of our associates and residents come together to ensure that deserving children have a holiday to remember. When you donate toys, you are not only giving children a gift, you are also giving them cheer and hope during this special time of year.”
Today, over 4,000 children are in Miami-Dade County’s foster care system, with the Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) Program advocating for approximately 72% of them at any given time. Voices for Children focuses on helping raise funds to ensure that every abused and neglected child from Miami-Dade County has a court-appointed guardian ad litem, financial assistance, and other resources for their health, educational, and social needs.
