Dan Wurtzel, President of FirstService Residential New York, has been elected a director of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations, Inc. (RAB). The RAB negotiates collective bargaining agreements on behalf of commercial and residential building owners that employ the building service industry’s major unions. Those include the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 32BJ, Local 94, International Union of Operation Engineers (IUOE), and other craft groups.

The RAB also advises and represents its members in the administration of their collective bargaining agreements and in matters concerning personnel and human resources. The organization has more than 4,000 commercial and residential building members in addition to building maintenance contractor members who employ more than 20,000 union members.

“We are fortunate to have Dan Wurtzel lend his leadership and expertise to our organization as a director,” said Howard Rothschild, president of the RAB. “Dan brings with him a deep understanding of the real estate industry and its financial operations that will be beneficial to reaching our goals.”

As President of FirstService Residential New York, Wurtzel oversees management of more than 500 condominium, cooperative and rental properties comprising 70,000 apartments while directing leadership development, organizational growth and strategic initiatives. He is responsible for ensuring that FirstService Residential delivers its promise of “service excellence” to board members, building owners and residents across the company’s New York metropolitan area portfolio.

“I am honored to be elected a director of the RAB, an organization of significant importance to the property management industry and the value we deliver to our clients," said Wurtzel. "I look forward to joining my fellow directors to help the RAB work with building workers and their legal representatives to negotiate agreements that are fair and equitable for all parties.”
